Iconic Fashion journalist : Anna Piaggi, 81 RIP

Milan, Italy home of the legendary fashion journalist: Anna Piaggi passed on Tuesday.

   She is one of my favorite fashion journalists/style makers.  For the 40 + years she has inspired some of the great fashion designers with her original eccentric style.  Over the last 10 years I've had the pleasure of attending RTW shows in Paris, Milan, London and NY in which she was sitting not to far away and the same thought would come to mind: 'this awesome, fearless intelligent woman not only can write excellent reviews but she is setting trends with her eclectic vintage meets couture style; and no other editors, journalists are as brave to be this original.'

   Over the last 40 + years her personal style has been channeled through RTW designers, accessory designers etc.  She was a muse and friend of ; Karl Lagerfeld, Yves Saint Laurent, Rosita Missoni, Manolo Blahnik , Stephen Jones etc.  She lived within her own rules for style, followed no one, collected everything,and established her legendary style by wearing all that is not clothing and all that is vintage and creating the most original style that supported her reviews of fashion....the fashion industry now has a big gap for an icon that has style that supports her words.
