I"m a big supporter of vintage no name brands as well as collectible vintage fashion. I can't resist frequenting the small hidden vintage fashion boutiques in Manhattan and Brooklyn. I was able to find two key looks that are both street worthy and reflective of the current RTW trends. I see where Designers like: Opening Ceremony and Acne,Chloe,Stella McCartney as well as Marc Jacobs are great at re inventing the featured vintage looks. Key details: brown 1990's leather jacket, layers!! I love non conventional layers!!

LES/Manhattan has many hidden small excellent themed vintage boutiques and Narnia is one of my favorites as they constantly re-merchandise. I think if your'e looking for 1980's and 1990's RTW designers like: Claude Montana, Alaia, Ozbek, Jean Paul Gaultier and YSL this is a great boutique to check every 2-3 weeks. I adore the brown leather jacket she's wearing by Claude Montana, it's large and slouchy. Makes it easier to layer for any figure..looks great with tighter jeans, pants or leggings as well as super slouchy chinos or baggy Chloe pants. I'd recommend the Marc Jacobs A/W 09 suede clog heels in a bright color.

Acne jeans was created by default by a very talented group of Swedish directors, art directors, photographers, and graphic designers about 8 years ago...they wanted a promotional tool and created some sexy jeans for the figure of well -0...then the demand grew and from there the brand has not only launched clothing but their directors and team members are out there directing some of the most cutting edge advertising campaigns whilst constantly evolving ACNE..i love their mens and womens clothing, their retail outlets, killer on-line shop and of course their publication: Acne Paper.
I've had the pleasure of designing costumes for 2 of the directors in the Acne family and they are some of the sweetest hardworking people i've ever had the pleasure to work for!! their theory: work hard ! disco hard!!

As i mainly reside in Manhattan and find myself constantly frequenting vintage stores for inspiration for my styling ; i thought it would be great to feature the staff of vintage stores for look of the week. This week i'm focusing on a Williamsburg vintage boutique : Armacord.
Alison Mazur merchandises Armacord and is an awesome fabric print designer!!! I love her comfy Fall 09 look...she has a bit of a Pixie Goth look...mixing vintage and contemporary. She has a great sense of chic casualness without over styling herself.
There are blogs to gossip about fashion, and there are blogs with RTW/ show images and opinions and of course the blogs of one's self wearing fashion?...i do hope this blog can fit comfortably in between all that and give you a weekly inside view of a fashion/celebrity stylist; the visuals , the research, the experiences that often are unpredictable, and most importantly keeping a sense of humor through it all whilst protecting the identity of my clients :)
