The Danish band; The Felines 'Pretty boy' song set the tone for the angsty show vibe. The models strutted to a continuous soundtrack that supported the deconstructed 1990's Debbie Harry meets the Madonna inspired silhouettes. The casting ranged from wayward street urchin to hooker. Hedi Slimane of Saint Laurent Paris ( formerly known as Yves Saint Laurent) stays true to his on going successful theme ; the chic indie rock girl.
Hedi's RTW Collections for Saint Laurent Paris are now on the list of approved and accessible to the woman who recently would never dare wear anything slightly sexy to her various status seeking society galas, her only objective was 'it had to be an expensive RTW brand ideally from Paris'. Or has that theory of status seeking women in untouchable RTW looks evolved into becoming a Housewife of some city on TV or a Blogger with her parent's Black AMEX ? These high spending stereotypes can now justify wearing expensive grunge as it's now available at Bergdorf Goodman rather than at Trash of Vaudeville. Imagine your fishnets tore up for you and packaged with a chic price and logo? And rather a sexy, uber short fitted mini dress is $7,000 rather than than $70? C'est tres chic no? Not so long ago this type of look was rejected and judged as too grungy , too rock n roll by the press and the cliche off the rack shoppers. We can now thank Hedi Slimane for deleting those judgments and creating the high end justifiable version or as I would like to classify as a strong fashion trend contradiction
The show production was another elevating factor to this super charged Fall 2015 collection. Favorite exits? The multi tone bright fur coat and the various embellished one shoulder cocktail dresses. This particular SLP/ Saint Laurent Paris FW15 collection like his previous is perfect for the preppy girl who wants to buy 'cool' and needs an expensive excuse to release her inner trashy tart.
And for those who are bonafide fashion trend creators; there were a few silhouettes one would never find at even the best vintage clothing stores or secret flea markets in which we would like to protest only have trend setting ' one offs'...that dilusion has now dissolved itself.
