NY Design week : Opening event at PROPERTY-TriBeca

PROPERTY showroom has moved to Tribeca from their SOHO location, launching NY Design week with a private event to promote their new collections and gorgeous new location in TriBeca.

   I'm a mid century furniture and interior design fan, so the opportunity to see the expanded collection by current and antique collection was a must do. As I was aware this particular showroom was the first to have exclusivity with number of top furniture, lighting and object designers in NYC, yes before ABC Carpet and other interior deign stores.  This includes an old friend from London; Tom Dixon who's meteoric career has expanded from furniture design to consulting at The Conran company in the UK and into objects, lighting, and candles, .

   The event was a select crowd who were either designers, publishers of prestigious interior design magazines and or infamous art collectors. Hosts: Peter Davis and Colin Cowie added a warm vibe to the event as did the Roca Patron and watermelon signature cocktails. 

 'Property: Featuring new collections from Pulpo, Brokis, Haymann Editions, and Lambert & Fils, the chic, European-American mother and daughter team of Sabrina Schilcher and Ondine Harris curated these new collections in collaboration with Kim Klein, as a focal point of dialogue that embraces Property's philosophy.

PROPERTY has moved to Tribeca - 57 Walker Street

- an airy, two level, 4000 sq. ft. loft in a cast iron building, with 15’5” ceiling featuring a rare 19th century, raw skylight of hexagon cast glass. Schilcher and Harris chose the space because “it was perfect to showcase our carefully selected exclusive lines from around the globe including limited editions, vintage furniture, object d’art and high-design jewelry”.

They are committed to representing extraordinary talent in an elevated, exclusive environment, respecting the integrity of their designs. The first dealer in the US to distribute Tom Dixon for 8 years exclusively, PROPERTY still carries the complete, fast growing line including its eclectic accessories. The roster of other contemporary talent includes: Lee Broom, Ferrucio Laviani, Giam Fratesi,Sebastian Herkner, Lucie Koldova, Luca Nicchetto, Paola Navone, Nendo, Chris Rucker, Scholten Baijings,Sebastian Wrong, Jesse Visser, Jaime Hayon, Schilsan, Patricia Urquiola and Rick Tegelaar, as well as designicons Franco Albini, Gio Ponti, Alvar Aalto, Renzo Mongiardino, Charles Pollock, Verner Panton, GiovanniTravesa and Josef Hoffman, amongst others.
